Browser test
Does your browser support AVIF still images and sequences?
As of January 2021, only the newest versions of Firefox and Chrome support AVIF, and for Firefox, that requires enabling the image.avif.enabled
setting in about:config
.
Firefox will support AVIF without modifying about:config
as of version 86.0.
There are two ways a browser can display images: in <img>
tags, or by opening the image like a document (think PDF files).
Take a look below to test whether your browser supports opening or embedding AVIF images and sequences.
